This week we had a visit from some hedgehogs. Tanis and Martin Jordan rescue hedgehogs and gave us some good information. Our Big Write on Friday was a non-chronological report about hedgehogs so all the information really helped us write some super reports.
In science this week we made a electrical circuit. We made our bulbs light up and talked about what would happen if we break the circuit.
This week has been Arts Week. We focused on the book Mr Wolfs Pancakes. We made a life sized wolf with puppets made from toilet rolls in his tummy, the children enjoyed making wolf masks and we made a collage of the scenery from the story. At the end of the week we wrote a letter to our parents telling them what we had been doing and what we had enjoyed.
This week we had a visit from The Image Theatre Group who performed the story of Robin Hood. It was fantastic and we all enjoyed it. There were only 3 main actors but some of us got the chance to join in and act. We also got to learn some new songs. After the performance we did some super story writing.

On Monday 4th December we held our Inspire Workshop. We made a hanging Christmas decoration and a reindeer. There were some super comments from the parents and the children.
In maths this week we having looking at money and solving money problems. We enjoyed counting the real money using 2's, 5's and 10's.
This week we have been learning about Halloween. We investigated and made our own pumpkins figures . Our writing was thinking of disgusting adjectives to add to our potion for the Wicked Witch and our maths was measuring our pumpkins and solving problems.
On Thursday 17th October we held our Farmers Market in the school hall. We made Lemon Curd to sell. We picked a lemon from the school lemon tree and then we all helped to make 14 jars. Owen and Anya helped to sell and within 10 minutes we had sold out!!
On Tuesday 26th September we went on our trip to the Severn Railway at Highley to help with our topic on trains. While we were there we got to visit the engine house where we could get close to the steam trains, we got to help sort the mail on the mail train, we watched a video about all the jobs on the railway, we even got to play in the play area. At the end of our visit we traveled on a steam train to Bridgnorth and ate our lunch on our way their. The children's behaviour was fantastic all day.
This week in PSHE we have had a vote to choose our Class Council representatives. All the children in the class voted and then we used a tally chart to see who had the highest votes. Qwen and Betty will now attend regular meetings with Mrs Matthew to discuss school and class issues.
What a fantastic start to the new school year. In maths we have been subitising, we used counters to help us find the numbers that made 5,6,7 and 8.
