In the year 2000, Ludlow Infant School was one of the first schools in Shropshire to be accredited a ‘Safer School’. Seventeen years later and the school continues the security/safety process. During the seventeen years, the school has held regular Safer School Group meetings involving staff, governors, parents, neighbours, the Police and Shropshire Council. This group has implemented significant improvements over the years and recently, the school held an annual Safer School Group meeting. At this meeting, the security/safety measures were reviewed and the incident recording analysed. It was reassuring that there had been no recorded incidents. In recognition of the school maintaining its accreditation, an updated ‘Safer School’ certificated was presented to the school during the meeting – congratulations!! The next meeting is planned for 2018.
