"If anyone is feeling low, then spend some time at this School"
We are very proud to announce that in September 2013 the School achieved a Gold award for the RHS School Grounds Campaign. Below are extracts from the judges report:
Eco Schools 'Green Flag' Status
After 3 or 4 years of ground work and lots of curriculum work in all year groups, Eco-Schools meetings and many initiatives, we were awarded 'Green Flag' status in April 2014.

Well done to the (literally) hundreds of children, staff, parents and governors involved.
"If anyone is feeling low, then spend some time at this school- there is a vibrancy and enjoyment throughout which just makes you feel so good. Over the years, they have worked hard to improve all areas of the grounds whilst making sure that they meet the needs of the pupils and Curriculum. Staff, pupils, parents and Governors are all proud of their School grounds and quite rightly so. This Gold Award is so well deserved."
"The wonderful owl and animals at the entrance to the School. Money raised by donations and sale of logs and plants."
"Pupil's enthusiasm for all aspects of their grounds and their knowledge about propagation and growing."
"Extensive planting of fruit trees throughout and the use of produce in cookery to make items (such as crumbles and jams) at the Farmers Market - even lemon curd from the bush growing in the school corridor!"
"Impressive monthly photographic records lining the entire walls of the corridor depicting all the activities and development within the grounds."
"Forest School and Eco School are both evidently a major part of pupil learning and provision of areas and facilities are of a very high standard."
"Bug hotels, bird feeders, nest boxes and wildlife habitats in abundance."
